He is a dearest son of Gwen and Amarjeet Rampal. Arjun and his younger sister attended the prestigious Kodaikanal International School located in Palani Hills,Tamil Nadu, where his mother was a teacher. One of his cousins, Kim Sharma, is an actress and appeared with him in the film Yakeen. Arjun Rampal has done a lot for Charity, he is currently sponsoring 11 orphan children in an orphanage. He is married to Ex Miss-India Mehr Jesia. They have two daughters,Mahikaa, born on January 17, 2002 and Myra, born June 2005.Designer Rohit Bal hired him as a model after seeing him in a disco. He worked as a model for several years. His first movie was the 2001 film Moksha, directed by Ashok Mehta. However, this film was released after his next film, Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat, in which he appeared with Sunil Shetty and Aftab Shivdasani. Although both films failed at the box office his performance in both films was appreciated by critics. In 2002 he won the Award of the International Indian Film Academy for Face of the Year. Since his debut, he has worked steadily in films such as Aankhen (2002) which was a success, Dil Hai Tumhaara (2003), Yakeen (2005) and Darna Zaroori Hai (2006) none of which have been successful at the box office. He has also appeared in the Temptations 2004 concert with stars Shahrukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, Saif Ali Khan, Preity Zinta, and Priyanka Chopra. His recent film releases were the multi-starrer Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna where he had a guest appearance and Don - The Chase Begins Again which is a remake of the 1978 Amitabh Bachchan starrer Don. Rampal played the role of Jasjit which was played by Pran in the original. He got favourable reviews for his performance. Recently, he has decided to go behind the camera to produce as well as star in the film I See You (2006) which released on December 29, 2006. He produced it with his own production company Chasing Ganesha Films. His wife, Mehr Jesia, is co-producing. The film released to poor reviews and was a failure at the box office.
